Swiss companies, especially those with a strong regional focus such as cantonal banks, often want to support local climate protection projects. By investing in Swiss carbon offset projects, companies can send a positive signal and help achieve Switzerland's climate goals. Swiss carbon offset projects also offer high quality and efficiency. Switzerland is known for its innovative technologies and high environmental standards, which are also reflected in its climate protection projects.
The development and support of Swiss carbon offset projects is also often addressed by municipalities as part of their climate strategy, as they contribute to the achievement of local and global climate goals.
In addition, many carbon offset projects can be visited on site, which adds credibility and makes carbon offsetting tangible for employees.

Overview of Swiss climate protection projects
In Switzerland, the “climate law” requires producers and importers of fossil fuels to offset part of the CO2 emissions caused by the fuel. As a Validation and Verification Body (VVB) authorised by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), Swiss Climate verifies whether such a project meets the requirements of the CO2 ordinance. If you have any questions about this service, please contact our VVB expert Luka Blumer. Swiss Climate also audits climate protection projects supported by voluntary contributions.
Together with the Oberallmeind Corporation in the Canton of Schwyz, Swiss Climate organised a visit to the climate protection project "Climate Protection and Sustainable Management of Swiss Forest". Swiss Climate customers were able to see how CO2 savings work and how their commitment contributes to the sustainable management of the Swiss forest.
In the spring of 2023, our team visited the Swiss climate protection project "neustark", one of the world's leading companies in the field of carbon removal. At ARA in Bern, we saw how CO2 is captured, liquefied and transported on site. We then went to Kästli Bau AG in Allmendingen to see the facilities where CO2 is stored in concrete for the long term. During these visits, climate protection became tangible and the fascinating technology was explained in an understandable and accessible way.
